Mr. George Tee joined Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation as Chief Technology Officer on 1 February 2017. He is responsible for shaping the development strategy of technology clusters and application platforms, as well as overseeing the laboratory services and HKSTP’s IT team. Working closely with the executive team, George plays a critical role in strengthening the I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong Science Park. He and his team will be responsible in bringing in reputable companies and technology to the Park.
George has over 20 years of experience in business technology and operations with proven leadership in driving transformation and enhancing corporate agility and efficiency. Prior to joining HKSTP, he was previously Operating Executive of Silver Lake Partners, a leading global technology focused private equity firm, advising and steering multiple portfolio companies to pursue strategic goals. George had also held senior executive positions of various companies, including Vice President of management system and operations with Allyes Holding - a leading digital marketing technology company in China; Executive Chief Information Officer of GE Corporate Asia; Chief Operating Officer of GE Capital Greater China and IT Director of GE Money Japan. George also worked for McKinsey& Company in Singapore.
George graduated with honors from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering.

Ben Wong is responsible for the overall vision, operations and development of Startup Launchpad (www.launchpadhk.com) – Asia’s largest hardware startup trade show. Ben serves as the Head of Global Sources Launchpad, a sub-business division of Global Sources, where he is responsible for helping hardware startups scale successfully leveraging the correct global distribution channels. In his role, Ben oversees the company’s cross-border O2O distribution channels for emerging brands in the Asia Pacific region and has grown the business from 50 startups to 400 in just two years. He also manages international relationships with private and public sectors in promoting international commercialization of hardware innovation.
Prior to his current role, Ben joined Global Sources in 2009 as a Print Copywriter for the Client Services Center and held roles as a Content Quality Manager, Executive Assistant to the Chairman, Special Projects Manager, E-commerce Research Executive and Business Development Manager.
He graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International Business & Management and from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master’s in Business Administration.
8:40pm Talk 3: Review and Outlook on HKETA

Mr Victor Ng had been the Deputy Chairman of HKETA from 2008-2011 and held the Chairmanship since 2012. He has over 41 years of industrial experience with more than 39 years on applied R&D industry. He founded Micom Tech Limited in 1981. He is currently serving as a board member for two R&D Centers (NAMI and LSCM) and has been a board member of ASTRI for six years. He has also served a number of ITF panels, and currently serving as assessment panel members of FBL (Technology for Better Living) and ESS. Mr Ng also served as departmental advisors of EEE/HKU, EE/CU and ECE/HKUST. He graduated from HKU in 1976 and is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of HKIE.
Mr Victor Ng will take us a brief tour to review the growth of HKETA in these 6 years under his chairmanship, then he will join with newly elected Chairman and Deputy Chairman of HKETA to have a panel discussion of the future development of HKETA. Members are welcome to raise their comments and suggestions.
