HKETA STEM Competition: Innovate for Future 2019 (IFF2019)

 

HKETA Youth’s STEM Club is organizing an annual STEM competition: “Innovate for Future” (IFF2019) on 16th Nov, this year.  Innovate for Future is an open competition to inspire young secondary school students in Hong Kong to build products to solve real life problems through idea to prototype development.  Our theme of this competition is “Society” – Smarter Living, Smarter Schools, and Smarter City.  In this competition, students will demonstrate an innovative idea and build a product prototype to solve problems in the society.  Competition will provide mentorship coaching and support during hardware and software prototype development before final pitch. 

 

This competition is supported by our international partner, San Jose State University (SJSU) Silicon Valley Center for Global Studies (SVCGS).  The final champion will have the opportunity to submit the project for a SJSU global program, such as Summer in Silicon Valley.

 

(a) Global STEM submission: Winner and final champion (if selected) will showcase their projects through SJSU global program.

(b) SJSU is also the home of Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge and Paseo Public Prototyping Challenge.

(c) Summer 2020 : Final champion to participate at a Silicon Valley innovation showcase through SJSU global program.

Proposal to be submitted by idea video.  Mentor panel will select the top 10 of submitted proposals and the top 5 teams will join the mentorship programme.

The result will be announced in our IFF2019 website.

 

Mentorship Programme : 12 OCT, 2019 (9:00 am - 11:00 am) - Completed

The top 5 school teams will join the mentorship service programme and lead by our Mentor Panel. Mentorship program will be conducted at Arrow Facility Lab at Hong Kong Science Park
